CENTER
CARE CHILDREN'S CLASSIC
September
25 , 2004
The Center Care
Children's Classic is a series of running events, at varying distances,
for children grades 1st - 6th. The events take place on the Western
Kentucky University Campus at L.T. Smith Stadium on Saturday, September
25th. This year's race will be run in conjunction with The Medical
Center 10k Classic.
The purpose
of the Center Care Children's Classic is to promote physical fitness
and emphasize the importance of a fitness program. Our hope is that
the children will use the training guides as a way to understand
physical fitness and how important it is to a young person's life.
These training guides are being implemented in the classroom to
help better prepare the children for race day.
Each school
will be competing for a grand prize. The classroom in each school
with the highest percentage of participation will receive a grand
prize. Each child who finishes the course receives a free T-shirt
and drink.
Last year the
Center Care Children's Classic attracted more than 2,000 participants.
This event is a great way for children to enjoy a day of racing!
